I helped Marcus with his Squarespace site, post development. There was a few issues such as spacing, font inconsistencies, incorrect links, buttons that had no purpose and over 230 lines of code that didn’t add anything to his site!

My first job was to remove all of the custom code once I’d carefully been through it and was sure it didn’t bring anything to the site. I then sorted the spacing, most of this was within the Squarespace builder but one section did require some custom code just to close the gap between 2 separate sections. Next I changed fonts to suit (including adding in a signature), removed some buttons that didn’t have a purpose and created an anchor link to point the ‘services’ navigation to the correct section on the home page.

I changed the name of one of the header navigation items to something better suited, removed some unnecessary white space and centered some sections that looked slightly off.

My last task was to provide Marcus with a personalised user guide to ensure he understood how to update the blog section of his website. I went one step further with this and made a video as well that showed each step in detail and explained the reasoning behind it.

Marcus now has a website that is fully functioning, without all of that custom code slowing it down and a user guide to ensure he knows how to manage it himself in the future!
